Skywest is giving a $7500 hiring bonus to CRJ typed pilots. Worth taking a look.

ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! ABSOLUTELY FALSE!!

I attended the exact same webinar this week as you did. What the Director of Pilot Recruitment said was United does not have any problem with pilots job hopping in search of PIC time. He did say the only problem he would have with it is if it impacted things such as your family life.

I recommend you listen to the webinar again, it will be released as a recording from alpa.

This website is filled with misinformation and fud.

I'm so sick and tired of all this bull**** about how to get hired with major airlines. Don't make a lateral move because it shows poor decision making? Are you *($%^ kidding me? People have lives. If the company they selected doesn't work out for them then they should be able to do whatever they want to do. Maybe you have to play the game, but I'm so sick and tired of hearing all these "rules" about how to get on with mainline.

I'm tired of the regional game myself, and if a mainline carrier doesn't want to hire me because I made a lateral move at one point in my career than so be it. I only get one chance in life and I want to enjoy it. I'm not going to spend it worrying about what some HR rep at an airline thinks.

I agree with you! That's just what he said. And that's only UAL. I've heard that AAL looks for career progression. So a lateral move may look good to AA.
I'm a FOever FO and have thought about a lateral move many times. I just thought it was an interesting comment and worth sharing. But ultimately, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't.

That's not what he said. He said exactly the opposite. It couldn't be more opposite than what you said.

I don't live in Denver any longer. But anyhow, Skywest may be worth looking into. And they do have an IAH base. Any word on how senior it is?

From date of hire, you could be Houston based in 4 months. Most junior Houston pilot at Skywest is a 23 Feb hire. Date of hire would be considered your first day of Indoc.

Out of the 14 bases at Skywest, IAH is probably #5 most junior on the CRJ.

Anything is better than gojet. So in retrospect it wouldn't be consider a lateral move, it would be a move up!
