He had a nice big house and didn't need the income from Skywest. I congratulate him on his previous success but to go on the forum and tell those who rely on this industry to feed their wife and kids after spending years and $100,000 and up on an education is not cool. Some pilots were upset because a yes vote limits our bargaining ability to make flying a desirable and profitable career over the next 3 years. Republic is crashing, airlines are making millions and we are gonna settle for a tiny raise? You're right people are gonna be upset. Can't believe more people aren't upset. Are we that accepting of less than we deserve? Think back to your early days struggling financially as a student, flight instructor, cargo, charter, 135, when is the last time you had a weekend or Xmas off? We deserve better! Why did we vote this in?? Let's just settle for crappy pay and work rules when skywest made 30 million in 3 months???

Very well said!

Since the new forums are absolutely useless, does anyone know what is going on with the PBS bid info? Still not updated on SWOL. Did we have two PBS bids, one if the pay package passed and one if it didn't like our paychecks and we are trying to find the right one to publish?

It appears someone has already tried to ask but since it hasn't been approved, I thought I would throw it out here and see if there are any answers.

Whoooaaaa easy there big fella. Alpa doesn't serve regional pilots, they only collect dues at this level. You're served by proxy only from our mainline friends.

Tell me one regional airline who is benefiting from alpa.

Do you honestly believe that places like Mesa, TSA, RAH, Envoy, XJT, etc would be better off without a union?

As for ALPA at regionals, mainline pilot dues money actually subsidizes the cost of the union at the regional MECs.

Agreed! Besides, I doubt they are dining on lobster and steak with what they take out of my paycheck. We make more, they make more.

Alpa is dying, look no further than who is representing our legacy peers. It's going all in house.

That's fine. I have no problem with everyone going independent. ALPA is no different than CAPA, though. They are both associations of independent pilot unions. It didn't go unnoticed that you didn't comment on my first point. Every pilot group would be worse off without a union, including the legacies.

I'll agree with that at the mainline level, but I believe at the regional bottom floor level the company itself needs a union or an organization to keep all the pawns inline. Imagine 3000 pilots at a given regional doing whatever the heck they wanted. Show up for work, don't show up for work. Show up on time, don't show up on time. No organization to sue in an unsanctioned work action. Pure supply and demand. Chaos. The union is nothing more than the companies disciplinary arm but nobody sees it from that angle. They negotiate double secret probation when you screw up.
