Republic Offering $40/hr First Year Pay
I read that Republic had submitted an offer to pilots raising first year pay to $40/hr, but that the union has refused to send it out for a vote.
What is so bad about the offer that the union won't even send it out for a vote?
I strongly believe that every regional should eventually get to $40/hr first year pay. I'm very surprised the union is throwing out a chance to make that happen.

Good lord, there are FA's that make more than that with zero education requirements. A pilot should NEVER EVER be paid less than the highest paid FA in the industry, period.

For starters, the company bypassed the union completely and made the offer directly to the pilots. Therefore, as far as the union was concerned, there's nothing to vote on, because no offer for a TA was ever presented to them as the legal collective bargaining representative of the pilot group .
You can read the other threads for the specifics on the work rule concessions/loss of vacation etc.

There is nothing wrong with a senior FA (think longevity) being paid more than a regional new-hire, period.

Payrates are always the last things you should look at when evaluating a TA.

You're either management, a FA, or a perfect example of the few misguided pilots among us who can't grasp that a rising tide lifts all boats.

I'm going to guess that he is an FA trying to be a pilot. Anyone that doesn't feel that a pilots "ratings" (I'm going to guess he means CERTIFICATES here) clearly doesn't have any.

I think Air Wiskey just TA'd higher than that for 50 seat jets; not the 76 seat guppy killer. What's so bad is thinking 40 an hour is good starting pay for a professional airline PILOT.
