It's not always about flight time. Network, network, network... Once you've done that, add some community service and other extra-curriculars to your resume. Then go to job fairs. If you try to separate yourself from the pack with flight time, you'll never do it.

Unless you're female or minority they won't hire you with 2500. Maybe allegiant but you have to go their job fair, you won't get called if you just applied online.
I think the "unless you're female, or minority...." argument is a little mid-90's, don't you think? Plenty of pilots hired at the Big-3 the last 2 years that fit into neither of these categories

Ha, that has been my gameplan for the past year. Identify as a female, call myself Katelyn, and tell them the sex change is on the way. Then once I get hired, change my mind to being a male!
so far, no bueno. But maybe I should man-erm woman up and just do it!

Work on marketing yourself and hit the job fairs. LCC's are already hiring guys with 2,500 hours, but you have to learn how to market yourself and be willing to put in the work. Frontier, Jetblue, Spirit, etc. all hire guys with no PIC. It may not be the last stop in your career, but it beats being stuck at the regionals.
