It was said in jest hence the tongue in cheek and winky emojis. Please check your humor and sarcasm detectors. They may be inop...

My 4.5 years of experience commuting to an outstation was exactly the opposite of yours. In all of those years, I was able to commute to/from home on the beginning or end of a trip maybe five or six times. There is little more miserable than beginning your trip AND your days off with only a few hours of sleep as the result of commuting on your day off on both ends...all this despite my living in a major hub for both AA and SWA.
Hell, I rarely saw my base during daylight hours because of RAH's crappy outstation schedules.
I think that your experience is the exception.

Geetings,
Finally got the job offer from RAH, class date starting Dec 8.
I live in KC, and getting based at MCI is my biggest reason for making the jump on over here. Does anyone know if people are getting MCI out of training, or soon after?
I also understand that MCI has been on 'the chopping block' for some time. But if I can get MCI for even 1 month, just that would be worth it, as I would end up right where I am now, only with a little bit of signing bonus $$$ in my pocket!

When I left, I was bidding sixth in base...the people above me also wanted day trips. I was able to bid specific specific pairings and I would get my first choice. Regardless of this, there were still no commutable trips..even on one end. I did notice that Indy was getting a few trips that were commutable on one end, but I still think that it is highly irresponsible of you to hold up your high seniority situation as the norm when it is far from that.

So yes, I'll stand by my representation. Thank you very much. I do not pretend that this is the same across both certificates and all bases, but is true in many S5 bases (think Delta flying, and previously all of the United jet flying). I make no representations of the YX bases as I do not know their schedules and won't until single certificate next quarter but with all the flying on one certificate then, it should be even better.

I'm only at about 30% in base...not what I'd call "high" seniority and as I noted, I've been able to do this for more than 2+ years, when my seniority was even much lower. So yes. I'd say it's very very normal. Perhaps your schedule was more the exception or your expectations weren't in line with your relative seniority within your base.

So you're a shuttle guy with a great schedule. Not at all a representation of what the VAST majority of RAH pilots are experiencing. I've flown with several high seniority YX captains on absolutely terrible pairings. They all complain about how bad the schedules are here....and they have had 10-18 years on property.
I will maintain that compared to other regionals the schedules here aren't all that bad and that's what was originally being answered in response to someone's question. We are here to provide information so others can make intelligent and more informed decisions. You don't and shouldn't be dismissive just because you don't agree. Instead be helpful to people asking questions and post your schedule. Don't just be argumentative for the sake of arguing.
Good grief.

I bid about 30% in base and got all Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and 2 Sunday's off for November (including thanksgiving). But I'm an IND scab, so take it with a grain of salt.
