They've been saying that since my first day of. Training... So at least 14 months. With Kirby running things at UAL now, I wouldn't count on it.

With AA and DAL heavily subsidizing their regional feed, UAL will have to do something or risk their feed drying up.

You're in denial about the situation at TSA. Why would UAL offer anything when they plan on getting rid of most of their 50 seaters in about 2 years? Flow will never happen with Tsa, and the pref interviews is for carriers that actually have a future whith United. United would not care if TSA lost ERJ feed in a few years. Mesa probably has a better chance of getting something because they fly valuable AC to United. The fact that only commutair and expressjet have agreements is all you need to know what they think of future of Tsa at United.

I'm not in denial. I'm merely stating facts. You can't get rid of that much feed. When this really starts to pick up in a year, even a preferential interview isn't going to compete against Endeavor and the WOs. United is in serious trouble with their feed if they don't match the subsidizing that is going on at DAL and AAG.

Do you cry yourself to sleep every night?

Look what you just said in the same response. We have 50 seaters so we're doomed. The two airlines you alluded to at the end with a CPP are also 50 seat carriers. Are they doomed as well?

To be fair, you're kind of reinforcing his end point there in the fact that even though they're still 50 seat carriers they still have something we don't. It's like we're the trash and those two are the recycling, at least United has to give half a crap to make sure it's separated from the rest of the garbage. The way I read it 50 seat carriers are on their way out, and United at least gives half a crap to offer them something. Now, whether that's purely just a function of management here doing less than those two carriers, I have no idea, but I have a feeling it is not. My 2 cents.

You're 100% correct. The million dollar question is whether or not TSA will be slated for UAL subsidies or whether we will be one of the carriers left out to dry. The problem today, right now, is that a lot of guys won't be willing to wait around and see. Our staffing issues will get worse. The reserve your seniority program is a bandaid on a broken leg. Upgrade times here have already shot way up. People will leave. The recruiting department has a steep mountain to climb. Hope it works out for the best....only time will tell. But the more time that passes, the larger the problems will be that management has to overcome.

Well said. Long gone are the days of 12 to 18 month upgrades. More like 2.5 to 3 years, and that's pushing it.

Why have upgrade times shot up? Are CA's not moving on? I realize there's no growth but had assumed CA's would be moving on too in the current hiring environment. Are there a lot of FO's leaving to other regionals?

I think there are quite a few Captains moving to the majors. But you need FOs before you can upgrade.
