Default Envoy Air Pipeline Instructor

I plan to go to ATP Academy and become a pipeline instructor with Envoy. What's the process? Tips? Thank you!

If you still don't have your ratings I suggest you get them first before being tied down to an airline. As a pipeline instructor you work for envoy and not atp. Your paycheck comes from envoy. But if you want to get out of the pipeline it's going to cost you around $5,000. Don't rush man.

ATP says once I get my CFI and 300-500 hours to apply at Envoy. Is that a wise choice?

I'm also curious about this program, as well as the PSA and PDT version. My school has the cadet program, which I hear is different from the pipeline. I am a CFI and still need 1100 hours, so it would be at least a 4 year commitment. $5k and flight benefits sounds decent. Is there any reason to choose PSA or PDT over envoy? I don't live near any of the bases and would move to base. Sorry to jack the thread!

I heard Envoy is the best. It's the original American Eagle. I also heard the aircraft will be spilt up amongst the three. Envoy will get E175s, PSA will get CRJs, and Piedmont will fly E145s. That's what's I hear.

Envoy's pipeline is pretty decent, I flew with a guy the other day who did it. He liked it, said it was cool to have all the benefits that it comes with. He also knew hew wanted to come work here and didn't care what base he got, so he wasn't setting himself up for disappointment by wanting a specific base and equipment.

Fwiw.

Right now there really is no benefit to signing on with the pipeline instructor program other than travel benefits. Not just Envoy but any of them. The regional recruitment strategy is constantly evolving for lack of a better term. First a pipeline program, then bonuses, now regionals are paying for your last 100 hours of flight time. Pay has increased markedly for First Year FO's in the last 12 months. Things only seem to be getting better.

ATP is no different from the regionals when it comes to recruiting. They use the pipeline program to lure you in. As if it were more advantageous to go there because they have the program. Last time I checked the pipeline was available at several 141 schools. ATP being one of the most if not the most expensive to attend of the schools offering it. Not bashing ATP just saying that the pipeline program shouldn't be used as a competitive advantage.

Just go get your certs (up to CFI-A ) however you can for as little $$$ as possible. Then go find a school to teach at that will pay for your CFI-I and MEI. then when you are within 100 hours or less away from ATP mins start looking where you want to work.

Envoyair.com/pilots has information on all the programs (Pipeline, Cadet, and ATP Tuition Reimbursement).

If you have any questions, contact the pilot recruitment department.
