Passengers' terror as Singapore Airlines Airbus plunges 13,000 FEET as BOTH engines fail in bad weather off Hong Kong

The Airbus A330-300 was flying from Singapore to Shanghai on Saturday
  • Pilots followed 'operational procedures' to restore power to the engines
  • Plane landed safely in Shanghai and flew back to Singapore after a delay

The flight crew must have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and had Brian Williams on board to handle this one.

Considering I just watched one of their 777-300er crews in LAX do a visual to 24R only to go around at ~300' because they forgot to put the gear down....I might be inclined to think they did something stupid up front.

Hmmmm......at ~300', I'm sure they would have heard some barking from the aircraft well before that. How do you know they "forgot" to put their gear down?

I was sitting outside enjoying my lunch and that particular spot on glide slope you are right around 300'. That is where they initiated the go around from

Sometimes people tune out that gear horn if they're busy, common enough phenomenon. Eventually the TCAS would develop a sense of urgency. But a 777 has some momentum...if it looked like they went around at 300' they probably hit the TOGA a bit higher up.
