Shoreham Air Show Crash
#21
Seems to me that every time there is an aviation accident, some "heart surgeon" gets on the boards, immediately solves the mystery of why a crash happens, and quickly assigns blame based on his many years of playing Microsoft Flight Simulator, his high speed connection to Wikipedia, and a his "wealth of knowledge" gained as a private pilot.
Most professional aviators tend to wait for facts and show some respect for the victims by not speculating about causes and accusing fellow pilots of fatal errors.

You are free to not read or respond to my posts, as I do with a few others here, for posters whose knowledge is lacking and opinions are less than worthwhile. Good luck to you!

I like to check these forums from week to week to see what's new and exciting in aviation but I only read the first page because usually if there is a 2nd or 3rd 95% of the time it is cardio arguing with people or vice versa lol.

It is reminiscent of Shy and his love affair with Hersman, where people would talk about her instead of what she was saying. Sadly those days are long gone.

Too true. I am debating rejoining under a different username so hopefully can discuss aviation and not "a doctor claims to know stuff about aviation *** how dare you". The discussions always become personally about me (irritating) instead of about aviation (fun and instructive).

I've never seen you say on this forum - 'oh I didn't know that' or 'I guess I was wrong about that'.
I remember my first view of the *new* attitude was when you started comparing yourself to that guy that died in the spaceplane thingy mishap.
You have turned into some Google-Fu/Wikipedia warrior to bolster your arguments instead of bringing to the table any personal experience.
I use to enjoy your posts; it turned into waiting to see how you would next try to show that you are the smartest person in the room
I for one actually hope that you do come back under a different username and get back to talking about aviation and the 'fun' stuff.

Yes, I have an unpopular opinion regarding AOA indicators, but this is one shared by many experienced GA pilots (and retired military generals). If anything, the arrogance of a few self-appointed evangelists (and yes, to some degree the FAA), telling GA pilots what they need to fly safely, when many don't even fly GA, is offensive.
So stop with the condescension and let's discuss flying.

I was impressed with this one that you quoted.
Especially since I read it right before the other post.
It gave me hope.
I see what some constructive criticism get you cardio.
Best of luck with the new attitude
On the AoA issue alone (we won't even discuss ALL of the other issues you've had), I said I like AoA and I wish I could use it in every aircraft.
I didn't say you had to have it.
I don't care if you like it or not.
YOU are the one that has gone on some sort of crusade to try and prove that it isn't worth anything to GA - even going as far as continuing to quote Collins and some old articles.
Old dog....no new tricks.
I got it.

Possibly true. I don't know enough to say in this particular case.

How about let's discuss aviation and not a few members' infatuation with cardiomd. Like that weird car valet aspiring pilot guy dissed by the doctor years ago, still with a grudge. Get over it. I'm not your enemy.

Returning to the thread for the readers, lurkers, and reporters:
The AAIB report has been released, and is a good Friday post-work read for those interested. Give it a download here:

Lots of great info regarding the airport display regs (basically a few prohibited areas, and 1000' AGL limit above crowded areas). Logbook showed 40 hrs total in the Hunter since 2011 but possibly there were other logs that have not been discovered. Jet with no reported or discovered abnormalities, video analysis continues.
