lily- You are probably not going to get many useful answers on a professional pilot forum. None of us would go to work if we thought we were in any real danger of getting killed on the job.
If you're going to get on an airplane, you have to come to terms with not being in control. Yes, there are many things that can go wrong, but we train extensively to handle that stuff. There are many back-ups in place- with both the mechanics of the plane and the procedures we use to fly them, to insure that a system failure, or pilot error doesn't lead to an accident. That is why crashes are very rare.
The only way to insure you don't die in a plane crash is to never get on a plane, but statistically, the odds of getting killed in this fashion are negligible. I don't know about where you're from, but in the US, a middle class person should worry about heart disease, car accidents, cancer, and accidents at home. That is what will kills the majority of us.
Have a few drinks, watch a few movies, and let the pros up front worry about all the stuff that can go wrong. Remember, we want to get there safely just as much as you.

This^ Remember the pilots are the first ones at the scene of the accident.

He or she got a fairly thorough and useful answer in post #10, and it wasn't a dismissive one that made fun of, or blew off the poster. Go figure.

Yea but I didn't understand all that technical stuff.

In many years of trying to help fearful flyers, I've yet to find any strategy that actually works. Either they can come to terms with their fear and get on the plane, or they don't and they live a limited life. It doesn't seem to matter how much information they get.
