I keep seeing ads for DC-6 FO. Wonder what thats like... Glorified ramper? I would imagine upgrades are a careers length away. Im sure its some fun flying though.

Not hardly. They fly an historic aircraft in arguably the most beautiful place in the world. They also fly to some challenging airstrips where jets fear to go.

Its a unique opportunity if you've got an adventurous spirit.

What P.Rat said, DC-6 flying would be part of your career you would never forget.

Think about it... you may be the only kid on your block to have a DC-6 type rating on your airman certificate.

Nothing beats the sound of four R-2800s coming to life during engine start, then the roar during the takeoff roll. Alaska, the last prestige vestige to view while passing the time at altitudes of less than 10,000’.

The owner of the airline, himself, straps the DC-6 and C-46 to his back and flies cargo too. Great guy. You’ll never work for a better gent then Rob. Can’t tell a joke... but he does buy the beers.

Default Commuting from the lower 48

Anyone with experience working for Everts and commuting to Alaska from the lower 48? Do the CASS privileges work out or do you find yourself paying your own way?

Thanks in advance for any info!

I did a 3,000+ commute with Everts all the time. Never had an issue. They have an agreement with every major and regional airline I can think of.

PM me your CV. I’ll forward it to EAC for review.

Thanks for the response. I live in North Dakota so my commute would be thru Minneapolis more than likely. I haven't seen a whole lot of empty seats now-a-days so I'm concerned about pulling it off in a timely manner.
