Ideal New Hire Candidate?
Ideally, what do you believe recruiters are looking for in an applicant? Ive seen individuals in the industry bounce from right seat of an RJ onto a mainline - I've also seen companies never call individuals that have 1000+ of turbine PIC. Does Spirit have a regional airline that it prefers to draw from? Or a particular kind of applicant? Would any of you have pointers for an individual looking to possibly pursue Spirit?

This may not be what you wanna hear...but... spirit is looking for the right person. We have a vast array of backgrounds and experience levels. From 2 year FOs to 10 year RJ guys to mil guys to corporate guys. They want someone who buys into the ideaology of the company and honestly wants to make this a long term home. As long as you meet the minimums... that’s the point you need to convey. Show them you really wanna be here. Good luck

Half of the interview was sitting in a room chatting with the other applicants and a couple HR folks, with more HR folks in the back noting how the interactions were playing out. Basically they're hiring on personality and if you can't fly you'll just wash out of training. Seems to be working, all the spirit pilots I flew with were good people both to fly with and to hang out with during the trip.
