CFI moving to build hours
I will be finishing my CFI in the next couple weeks and we are starting to think about moving from northern Florida to Arizona for a couple reasons. 1. We are a family that likes to experience different areas. And 2. Wanting to move some where that I can build hours quick. The CFIs at my current school are only averaging 30-50 hours a month. What area would one recommend to go to work as a CFI. Also any information on schools. Wife really likes the Prescott area, any good schools around that area?

I don’t know anything about Arizona, but if you already live in Florida I’m not sure why you’d want to move across the country for a CFI job. That’s an expensive endeavor for very little net gain. You have the best chance here to meet your goals year round. Look up some other schools in different regions of Florida. Many of them will advertise CFI positions on their website and include monthly or weekly flight hour averages.
Also, I understand your desire to time build, but there’s more to CFI than that. If your primary focus is YOU during your time as a CFI, it won’t matter WHERE in the country you go, because your students are going to notice and request another Instructor. Or, if your school is rife with timebuilding ‘instructors’, the students are going to eventually go to another school, and yours will have a bad rep. I wonder if that’s why the CFIs at your current school have averages that low.

Ah, I gotcha now. You sounded like a much different pilot in the OP. The dreadful timebuilding ‘doesn’t really care’ Instructor. Sorry if I Knee-jerked in my response.
As for your current school, the average student being a presolo military pilot is unusual. I would expect monthly flight time averages at most schools to be 70+ hrs for instructors. Much more than 80 and you’ll be exhausted. I would be wary of a school that promises near 100 hrs a month. They will probably work you like a sled dog.
Good luck to you brother.
