Turbine mins still 1800TT for new hires? So if you get hire with 1200 TT do you still have to wait until you get 1800TT for turbine eligibility or 1500TT?

I am looking to come to Ameriflight with 1200TT in a couple years. I have a wife and 2 kids and I need to get that 1000 twin turbine time as quick as possible. What do you think the typical time frame would be? Is there any chance of flying a cheiftain other than in California? I prefer Billings or SLC!

As of this week, PHX is going to an all turbine base, and the only Chieftains left will be in Portland, Seattle, and Dallas/Ft. Worth, outside of Burbank of course. As for the 1000 PIC turbine, figure 3-5 years at AMF.

Really? Everything I have been reading indicated that it is possible to obtain 1000 hours in 12-18 mos.

Question Autopilot?

Did Ameriflight finally install autopilots in all their aircraft?

Plan on getting 500 - 600 hrs a year and a turbine upgrade around 6 months. So, those of you in the know, is a cheiftain pilot going to make more than a BE99 pilot? Are they actually going to anounce this raise or just keep blowing smoke? It'd be nice as a current employee to not be the last one to find out. Any info would be appreciated.

I think it depends a lot on which run you get. As you gain seniority, you can bid for longer runs which help you build time faster.

Freightdog:

Make sure you sign up to be a Marriot points member. You'll get bucoo points. They try to let the Metro class have the crew car on the weekends, so make sure you get out and see Seattle. Other than that if you have the flows down, you'll be way ahead of the game!

I spoke to the VP today and he said they are mailing out the new pay scale on the 26th. He said it is effective the 30th and we should see it in the October 19th paycheck.
