A Shutout of Northwest's Pilots

I hope so too, but our MEC just sent us a letter saying they are going to aggressively oppose this merger now.fwiw

We can still work this thing out. The "seperate deal" that DALPA just signed should never have to take effect if our two MECs can get together and figure this thing out. DALPA only did what it did to make sure there are some returns for us. The merger was going to be announced with or without us.
Management wants the NW pilots on board. Badly. DALPA wants the NW pilots on board. Badly. There's more money with you guys on board. Let's do it!

They had to say that. Negotiations are going to resume shortly. They need to maintain some sort of leverage.

Well said, we have more power working together than separately.

The deal is done exactly as I posted that it would happen. Delta got some contract improvements in LOA 19 and the merger will proceed in the conventional manor. There is no attempt on the part of DALPA to run NWA as a subsiderary. The scope changes have nothing to do with allowing larger RJ's. Good luck to us all and lets hope the new airline turns out to be a powerhouse!
And we all collectively mellow and rest easy that no furloughs are going to happen, fleets will be maintained, and sweet destinations such as Grand Forks from the north and Mobile from ATL will still be served by the venerable noise of the JT8s. It's been a LONG time since I had to do a noise abatement departure, I'm just hoping it will still be a long time.
