Looks like their first two domiciles will be LA-area and Las Vegas. Bunch of ex-Jet Blue executives involved with 50 firm orders for Phenom 100s with 50 more options. Sounds like it won't start up until 2009.

It reads like the same concept of time-share used in the housing industry.

Big surprise. Have you flown on the airlines lately? Most people would do anything to avoid the airlines nowadays - plus, flying on the airlines is almost as expensive as owning shares... Oh, that's right, I forgot that you guys airline quite a bit to and from airplanes. At least you don't have to work in this business anymore.

Not sure if you understood what I was trying to say. I didn't mean airline pilots leaving for the Frax. Hell, I'm one of them.

I meant United's CEO, or maybe Continental's going " hum, there's no more room to expand, the airline industry is completely saturated, I KNOW, let's start a fractional"....

I worry a bit when I see a new fractional starting up, just like the guys at Frontier, Alaska or Airtran worried when they heard about Virgin America or Skybus.

No worries. I was just venting - I am tired of the regionals. Operators like Jetsuite sound interesting but until they have been operating for awhile I wouldn't personally apply. The founders have some good experience and probably some cash, but the market is pretty fickle. Flying a Phenom 100 around the West Coast would probably be fun though.

I know the pain my friend. I was 8 numbers from the upgrade at Express Jet when NetJets and Airtran offered me a job. I gave my two weeks notice inmediately, forget the Jet PIC, could not wait to get the hell out.

hang in there

If they need crews for 100 Phenoms they will need to pay decent rates - especially for those people living in expensive SoCal (looks like Hawthorne for a LA-area domicile). Thankfully they will also offer domiciles in cheaper Vegas and Phoenix. The newly revamped website looks pretty good:
