The Federal Aviation Regulation that applies to commuter and on-demand flight operations for hire (A very simplieifed answer...)
This reg applies to smaller commercial operations that transport people or cargo for profit. Things like non-scheduled charter, some very small airlines, air ambulance, and a lot of freight fall under this reg.

You fly an RJ so you know that the skills you developed in 135 are meaningless in the modern proceduralised automated world. I don't think that real pilot skills are necessary in the modern airliner. Just punch the button and sit back arms crossed and enjoy the show.

But you are right, one does not need much, if any, skill to drive one of these rigs. You would think from most rj drivers egos, however, that they believe it takes a whole lot of skill.
I think that in 20 years Navajo pilots will earn as much or more than RJ pilots simply because it demands some real skill and the insurance companies will not let people fly them without some real experience.
