ASA bases
I'm a low timer, but within a few months I should have enough time to start applying to the regionals. There's several I'm interested in, but my top choice would be ASA. I'm wondering if there's anyone that would know, the chances of getting to choose ASA over expressjet if I were to be called for an interview and also the chances of getting ATL as a base over IAD. I'm wondering because ATL would only be a one leg commute for me.

Recent new-hires have been going to all bases. Getting ATL shouldn't be much of a problem, however it'll always be the senior base, meaning longer reserve.
Last I heard you can pick which side of the house you want to go, either ASA or XJT, but there could be a wait and you could be giving up seniority.

I can tell you that for this month there are 70 FOs on reserve in ATL, of those 21 voluntarily bid reserve. On average there are around 60-65 reserves in ATL, so you'd need probably close to that number of people below you. If hiring continues at the pace we have been doing, my guess would be around 6-12 months on reserve. XJT has been getting more new-hires, so reserve time will be a little less there.
Next ASA class is scheduled for May 30 and two classes are scheduled for XJT in June.
