Aerial applicating information(crop dusting)

I think we had a thread on this some time ago. If I had unlimited funds, what would be my best course of action to get my hand in this seasonal business? I do have a background in agriculture, and of course, I'm a pilot.

Go to work on the ground crew with a operation that has a few pistons. After a year you'll know if you are going to be flying one and will discuss it with the operator a ag course...
You can try to skip that and go to a AG course, such as flying tigers out of Rayville, La and start beating the bush looking for a seat. Taken of course you hae a hundred Hours tailwheel or so.
Most operators are family operations and flight times/requirements can be wavie for the right individual.

Why do you want to fly piston?
Do you want to live?
Pistons are a lot slower and cheaper. It'll be easier trusting a guy in a 50k airplane than a 500k airplane. You have to learn the basics first. After a year or two you will move up. Yu will get more flight hours in a piston because it takes longer to do the job. Not to mention insurancing a guy I. A cheaper aircraft.
If your mind is set on owning your own operation find a fellow trying to get out and start working for him with the goal of buying him out.
