The airline recruiters who attended our pilot job fair in Phoenix answered the following questions for pilot hiring in 2012. Our next event will be in Atlanta on March 24th.

ATP Flight School
What are your hiring minimums?
-Must have all instructors ratings.
How many pilots does the company plan to hire in 2012?
-12 per month.
What domicile would pilots be assigned?
-Any ATP locations.
What are the characteristics you are looking for in a pilot candidate?
-Hold all instructor certificates.
What areas are the pilots having trouble with during the interview process?
-Interview etiquette.
If there is no job offer, how soon can a candidate reapply?
-6 months.

What are your hiring minimums?
-Part 135 mins. 1200 TT, 500 cross country, 100 night time, 75 instrument.
How many pilots does the company plan to hire in 2012?
-20 to 25.
What is the upgrade time?
-Currently 2 years.
What domicile would pilots be assigned?
-Varies. Prop domiciles are: LCK, CLE, FWA, DPA, BUF, BDL, TEB, BWI, CLT, BUY, FXE, PHX, BHM, BIL.
What are the characteristics you are looking for in a pilot candidate?
-Prefer instructor background, trainable, strong instrument skills.
What areas are the pilots having trouble with during the interview process?
-Instrument skills, scan with analog instruments.

-Case by case basis

-2500 TT, 1000 ME, 250 Inst, 100 recent turbine, ATP, 1st class medical, FCC license.
How many pilots does the company plan to hire in 2012?
-30 to 40.
What is the upgrade time?
-3-5 Years.
What domicile would pilots be assigned?
-IND, STL, MDW, DFW, IAH, DEN, PHX, TUS, LAS, BUR.
What are the characteristics you are looking for in a pilot candidate?
-Flexibility, professionalism, customer service oriented.
What areas are the pilots having trouble with during the interview process?
-Part 135 knowledge.
If there is no job offer, how soon can a candidate reapply?
-6 Months.

-Discrepancies between the pilot's job application and what is disclosed during the interview relating to checkride failures, employment history, and other background related questions.

-700 TT, 100 Multi unless attended a major aviation university and acquired advanced jet training at the university. Minimums will increase each month as we approach AUG 2013 for HR 5900.

What is the upgrade time?
-5 Years.
What domicile would pilots be assigned?
-IAH, CLE, ORD, EWR.
What are the characteristics you are looking for in a pilot candidate?
-Great work ethic in an employee who is also a great pilot.

-Not watching details in filling out an application.

Does anyone have insight into the Qatar hiring process? I'm a Metro driver at about 4000hrs.
