Position Description


Performs systems checks on the ground and in-flight for functional test flights and engineering tests. Prepares, develops and maintains aircraft flight test procedures. Evaluates payload and fuel requirements. Instructs personnel in test functions and flight engineer crew duties.

Technical


• Aircraft Weight/Cargo
Basic - Complete knowledge of weight and balance calculations, theory and definitions.
Preferred -Extensive, specialized knowledge of weight and balance calculations, theory and definitions.

• Flight Safety
Basic - Complete knowledge of company and industry safety initiatives and strategies to reduce the world aircraft accident rate. Knowledge of operational flight safety, including industry-wide current safety topics (e.g., approach and landing, upset, Controlled Flight into Terrain [CFIT]).

• Flight Theory

Basic Qualifications For Consideration

Do you possess a FAA Class 2 Medical Certificate?



Typical Education/Experience


Level 3 - Bachelor's and typically 6 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Level 4 - Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.




Other Job related information


Travel and rotation during off-shift work required as statement of work dictates. Flight Engineer Instructor (FEI) qualification desired. Military acceptance and/or engineering test flight experience desired. Qualification and 500 hours on BV-234 or a military H-47 Series helicopter desired. Bachelor degree highly desired. Experience in Military maintenance test flight procedures highly desired.
