Seems more sad than anything that it takes 18 years to attain that pay scale, which is still less than the YEAR 2 FO hourly rate at UA/DL/AA.

Cue the yes voters and kool aid drinkers crying "don't compare us to mainline, we are a regional airline we can't expect to make mainline pay".
Even though you're comparing an 18 year regional captain to a 2 year mainline FO..

If they could take a paycut for the good of the company, I am sure that they would handily do so without a fuss. "We're a regional. We have to take more paycuts!!!11!11!" would be their slogan then.

It's not just about hourly pay. What is your vacation and sick accrual? What percentage of health insurance premiums do you pay? Do they have cost escalation restrictions for year-over-year insurance increases? Do you get paid block or better? What matching funds does your employer provide and is it at 100% or something less? Do you have a defined contribution plan? Does your employer provide an occupational injury bank? Do they provide premium sharing for LTD policy that pays until you are 65?
And if you want to include QOL items, do you have a contractual no fault sick, fatigue, and commuter policy? Do they have a contractual train to proficiency policy that includes an impartial training review board? Do they have a neutral third party arbitration clause to handle disputes? Are they able to reassign you via ACARS? Are you required to check-in? Are you required to sit reserve if a flight gets cancelled? Is airport standby more than 4 hours? Can they assign you back to back airport standby days? Is there a limit on airport standby assignment per month? Can they assign you airport standby on the last day of reserve? Are there any automatic release rules for reserve?
Those are just a few items I can think of off the top of my head.

And how is life at Express Jet? A few years ago you had how many planes? 500? How many do you have now? 200? You are slowly being wound down. Get out while you can.

Thought most alpa regional airlines try to raise the bar.
You're doing the opposite
#8470
Pointless, nobodies raising any bars for long, the only people who have any leverage are CFI's. Regional game is rigged. If you're upwardly mobile, you want growth and upgrades. If you're a lifer you don't want to be COMAIRed at age 58.
SKW has historically operated in the sweet spot between mesa and comair.
Don't like it? Get out.
