Default JetSuite X - Public Charter E135s

Just announced today and confirms some of the rumors about the ERJs:

http://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2016-04-05/jetsuitex-launches-emb-135-service-burbank-concord?eid=325864607&bid=1360494

I presume to be crewed by LA based pilots. Wilcox also mentions Palomar to SJC as a potential market for the service. Plenty of dusty, cheap ERJs sitting in the desert waiting to be used on niche services I suppose....

Concord??? I can count on less than 1 hand the number of times I've flown a charter into/out of CCR in the past 12 years. Is there that much demand in the east bay or will the passengers just be driving past OAK on their way into the SF? Seems like an odd choice...there's a reason CCR hasn't had airline service in 24 years.

Maybe a shuttle from BART to the terminal? Sure is easier to get on BART then drive any Bay Area freeway.

BART has been anything but reliable lately. The section from Concord to Pittsburg was shutdown for several days due to a problem they didn't know how to fix!

Who knows...hope it works for JetSuite. It just seems like a very large departure from what they've been doing the past few years. Makes me wonder how successful the original plan has turned out to be.

Living in Walnut Creek, and remembering PSA and the likes flying out of CCR as a kid, I would love to see regular service again. That being said I feel that this has disaster written all over it.

I agree. I have some friends who work there and like it, but this move is a bit surprising. "Private jet experience" for $109? I hope it works for them, but isn't traveling on a small jet with 29 other people, uh, called a regional airline?

Looks like more potential destinations mentioned for the ERJs:

JetSuiteX to launch with domestic California flights

JetSuite (Santa Ana, CA) has announced that its JetSuite X (Santa Ana, CA) unit will commence scheduled passenger flights later this month.

Beginning April 19, the virtual carrier will operate daily flights between Burbank and Buchanan Field, which is about 48km from the heart of San Francisco. Thereafter, flights to each of Phoenix Williams Gateway, Las Vegas McCarran, San José, CA, and Bozeman are planned.

Operations are on-board a combination of ERJ-135 (chartered from Delux Public Charter (Rapid City)) and Embraer Phenom 100 and Cessna 500/501/525 Citation (chartered from JetSuite) aircraft.

So what does that mean for hiring?

You know Allegiant tried this originally albeit in old clapped out DC-9s.

I do not remember PSA flying in and out of Concord. The only bay area airports I am aware of was SFO, OAK, and SJC.

How is this a legal part 135 operation? I was under the impression that scheduled turbojet flights required a 121 certificate.
