Excellent description ^
I know several that live in the Austin/San Antonio area and really enjoy it. Commuting isn't my speed, but as he said......fantastic job security.

I was just in recurrent with a couple of the corporate guys. They were very happy. I know the PIT based guys get to bid their schedule a month out. Meaning hard days off and more if there is no trip that day. They operate two Challenger 300's out of PIT. They don't get the same benefits as the cargo side though.

Any updates to this thread? I understand they allow commuting. Is that via the Fed Ex cargo planes?

I believe so, yes. I know there are lots of “commuters”. Some do a fair amount of contract on the side as well. Rumor is they extended the obligation to 5 years before you can interview with mainline.

If you can commute (on fedex I guess?) in does anyone know what kind of schedule you work? 7/7, 14/14? I once heard it was 5 days a week with weekends off but no validity to that.

Thanks.

Found it on another thread. Looks like you bid a 16 day month?

Are the corporate pilot jobs posted on the Company website like all of the others?
