Time slot for BWI for a new hire?

It's anyone's guess but based on the past several months my guess would be summer 2015 at the earliest. It would have taken me 4 months to be able to get into BWI, but I had several classes start after me. You will probably get OAK or PHX right out of training, maybe LAS. There won't be any hiring after your class because it will solely be transition classes through Q1 2015. So the earliest you start getting some guys below you would be spring 2015. Add in those 4 months and that puts you at summer 2015.

Again, that's totally a guess and there are other factors involved and things change. Hell, I got HOU before MDW and that wasn't supposed to happen because HOU is supposed to be senior. At least it has been. When I was hired I was anticipating a year before I would be able to get MDW. It happened in 4 months.

Right now the anchorman in BWI has about 75 below him. Three new hire classes behind you would give you a decent shot of getting in there. How long that might take is anyone's guess.

I've heard rumors from no new hires next year, (unlikely in my opinion) to 350.

My guess is that since the schedule is written about 6 months in advance, the hiring folks will probably have a rough idea what they need for next summer around the November timeframe. Ask them.

Yes, you'll have folks junior to you sooner than you think. You're getting here at a good time even if you're at the bottom of the list for about six to nine months.
