You're right, these are my issues.
Being forced to negotiate with Gary Kelly while my future union hides behind his skirt. Watching SWAPA actively conspire and work against my best interests..."support management"...then expect me to tow the line and get on board with its agenda. Shouldn't come as a surprise...ain't gonna happen.
The only thing AirTran pilots have learned about southwest culture is this...screw everyone else and look out for #1. That's exactly what I'll be doing as a SW pilot.
Given the chance I'll sue SWAPA at the first indication of a possible DFR. I'll call sick if my new seniority causes me a scheduling inconvenience. I'll take early medical out and go play golf 5 times a week. Pay back is a MFer.

Again, a thoroughly ridiculous statement. Do you understand the definition of unanimous? If you truly think 1600+ pilots ALL shared you own particular vision, you are sadly mistaken. If you think you can get 1600+ people to unanimously agree on anything you are delusional. Keep up the rhetoric though because it really helps your case sound compelling.

They're not just his issues. They're a lot of AT pilots' issues. Just because there's only about 3-4 of us that dare speak up on this forum doesn't mean that the majority of AT pilots wouldn't love some retribution.
The guy who's now slinging gear for you might seem agreeable and polite to your face, but I PROMISE you that there's some level of animosity sitting in your right seat. You can't screw over people the way SWAPA & SW management did, and not have some fallout. If you want to stick your head in the sand about it, be my guest.

Shoelu -
Good on you for trying to reason with insanity, I've tried and given up. It very much reminds me of debating with my ex-girlfriend - utter frustration until I realized that reason can't prevail with a diseased sense of logic. Let Whack and Riz continue in their self-gratifying circle-jerk all on their own. It's all they have sustaining their sad existence. The vitriol and hate they spew is absolutely toxic, and yet when we tried to welcome them aboard - we are the bad guys.
I honestly hope they find fulfillment elsewhere.
Honestly.

Exactly what have I said that makes you believe my logic is diseased?
Were we forced to negotiate the terms of our integration with management?...yes
Did management use threats and ultimatums ("Plan B") to deny us arbitration and force a less than favorable result for AirTran pilots?...of course they did
Were most AirTran pilots made to feel that the future of their career depended on the ratification of an integration agreement that heavily favored one group over the other?...yes
Did SWAPA members rally at corporate HQ to "show support for what management is trying to do"?...yes, they did.
Will there be long term resentment and animosity over how management/SWAPA conducted themselves throughout this process?...you betcha.
Tell me how any of that constitutes a "diseased sense of logic". Facts are stubborn things.

I/we got welcomed aboard by your union (you) and your management with an attrotious ISL that was shoved up our *** with threats of a job loss should it go to arbitration and "threaten the culture of this company". Nice way to welcome someone aboard. Again, who's logic is misaligned now? You guys are out to lunch and have a very strange concept of people's reactions to getting screwed over.
