How will this affect SWA pilot hiring? I have a good friend in the pool awaiting a class date. Looks like all 100 classics will be retired this fall. That's a lot of planes to park at one time.

Question for recent new hires....With the SWA Life online system, if all your refs submit their recs for you online, will the People Dept still call your internal refs? In the past this was a good indication you made it past the interview at a minimum. Thanks.

All of my SWALife-submitted references were called. I had a couple of recs who gave me LOR's I took to the interview - they weren't called.

Word I heard was that the company is buying up NGs around the world to make up the difference. I doubt they'd want to lose a dime during this relative high-earnings period of the last few years.
