Default Need help regarding PC recency for Part 91.

hi all,

I am trying to seek clarification on PC recency for part 91 delivery flying of airline aircraft. PC's are valid for 12 months unless you hold multiple types.

There is a need to ferry aircraft type A. My last PC on aircraft type A was 18 months ago so therefore I cannot operate as PIC.

I am also typed on aircraft type B and my last PC on aircraft type B was 20 months ago so I cannot operate as PIC on this either.

If I did a PC on type B tomorrow, would that then extend the timeframe on aircraft type A to 2 years thus making it possible to operate as PIC on aircraft type A for another 6 months?

Its a long winded question I know but conversations with several check airman at various training outfits has confirmed that there is a lot of confusion out there regarding this.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

That might be a stretch. Here's my own example:

Last PC in type A was August 2013. Requalified in B in July 2014. That extended A to, by reg, to July 2015. Took a PC in B December 2014.

Even though I had the December PC, I think I would still need a PC in A no later than July 2015 to operate A as PIC after that.

I don't think your new PC would cover the second aircraft, but that's just an opinion.
