Sure, you get to entertain those goofy emails from ops personnel in SFO asking for an explanation of a six minute late push out of the gate when you actually pushed 4 minutes early only to learn that ACARS is deleting your out time if you do more than one take off data upload.

it's nice to set the tone, but it's not make or break. I took forever to upgrade because my kids were young and I wanted to spend more time at home and be a senior wide body FO.

If you are single with no kids then it probably doesn't matter. For me it mattered. quality of life weren't worth the extra 15 to 20 K I would have made.

Any inputs on projected company health and QOL at United would also be great!

Thanks for any input!

Yes, plan on the rollercoaster ride of your life. I've been here nearly 29 years. My best advice is take what you get and never plan too far in the future because like a rollercoaster, what goes up must come down. Semper Fi

Do you really think he's looking after a year and a half?

As of the last bid results, the junior CA is SFO A320 at 75.9% system seniority. If this growth keeps up I can see having 4-5 year upgrades in the next few years.

Equally likely to see bumps, downgrades, and junior captain going to around 15 years on the property.

Meh,
Having watched and lived through the cycle twice in the last 20 years, my opinions are just based on observations of the past. As your stock broker often says, past performance may in no way predict future returns.

Historically, four years to upgrade is not realistic. Maybe this time it's totally different than it was for the last 40 years. Then again, maybe it's not.
