Default UAL Operations

Here is my last trip:

Leg 1...left eng won't start. Eng fuel valve. RTB. Mechanic resets fuel handle, signs off write up. push back again. left eng still won't start. Eng fuel valve. no parts in Denver. flight cancels. dh to layover.

leg 2...pack temp controller deferred but timed out! Mechanics fix pack temp controller. 2 hr delay. finally board, cater. NO FUEL. CSR asks "you got everything?". Capt. replies "no, we need about 40 THOUSAND pounds of gas". Another 40 minutes before we push. 3 hrs + late.

leg 3...15 min late due to load planning delay before takeoff
leg 4...1:10 late due to late inbound. Many intl' conx are missed
leg 5... 11 min late
leg 6...48 min late due to late inbound.

I have never seen such long lines at the concourse service centers....ever! There's always weather to blame, but very airline has to deal with that. It's always, "unprecedented" weather, pilot sick calls, or like last winter....."unprecedented" winds over the north Atlantic. When you haven't a clue......doesn't everything become, "unprecedented"?

No worries. I waited 28 minutes to push in DEN a few weeks back because my F/O couldn't get a word in edgewise with all the "AC"'s clogging the radio.

I just waited 30 minutes to push in SJO for a controller with a short-term memory problem. "Please stand by, I'll call you back." 30 minutes later I asked "when". He said "who"? Funny. FUPM

That happened in EWR the other day! "I will call you back in 5 minutes" 35 mins later............who are you?

I also agree with all the damn chatter of "AC 5560, AC5578, AC5588" they should be all UNITED callsigns flown by UNITED pilots. ......period.

Yep, those banks in DEN suck when EVERYBODY is trying to push at once. You get paid by the minute, why b1tch about it?

Agree completely. But before this gets out of hand, remember who is was that voted that away in the first place. But it's cool, then you can 6 legs a day to GJT, DRO, MTJ, RAP, COS, ASE, HDN, EGE in a 737, airbus, etc.

And before it was "Acey" clogging up the freq in DEN, it was "Air Wisconsin", "Air Shuttle", "SkyWest", "Brickyard/Mercury", Lindberg", "Waterski", etc etc etc etc.

Fear not fellas, some of the Aceys will be on the way out as the Q400 comes in to do flying, operated by Republic. And some of those routes SHOULD be flown by mainline equipment with mainline pilots.

It's NOTHING but the regional shuffle game that Tilton started during the BK and Smugsack is continuing.
