If DEN/ORD can not absorb that many pilots then the junior 737 pilots get bumped out of DEN/ORD to wherever their seniority can hold and so on........

Your right we are not parking frames so if the pilots displaced through out the system don't take 320 positions then there will be a vacancy bid and the pilots based in EWR will be able to bid around the system to the open positions.

Remember the new hires have to go somewhere and they can only go to unfilled vacancies the only unfilled vacancies in the last year have been in EWR.

Speaking for many of us Poolies - We just want to work and get a paycheck....put us where ever and we are happy! Just looking to feed the family at this point.

I have never looked more forward to having issues of base and equipment.

2. Yes the new hires are still very much needed we are big time short crews. However, as I mentioned in this thread last month crew planning dicked up and now we don't have enough CAs and the 756 fleet is a mess for reasons beyond me.

3. I do believe hiring will continue to trickle tell this fall but not because the 76T and 320 can only handle a certain amount but because we don't need that many bodies on those fleets. The 320 is staffed pretty well and, in my opinion, will see a massive displacement bid in the fall from DEN and ORD. The 76T will have a MAJOR pull down in the fall with lots of displacements and, in my opinion, the closing of DEN, ORD and SFO. United is due for a major realignment and it will happen this fall after that we should have our staffing more consistent and new hires will be able to flow into the 737, 320 and 756/76T fleets and have more bases to select from. I have no clue how any of this will affect furloughs and LOAs coming back but I assume most of them will not want to go to training through the entire summer just to be junior on the 320 and 76T when they could be senior line holders on the 737.

4. I was told by a sked rep that there would be NO training over the summer so this is good news and new news to me. I do believe it will be a t a reduced rate.

Long story short you are all needed and will all be on property in the fall things are just really jacked up right now with staffing. It will take the fall pull down and massive displacement bids to fix this mess and it has to happen soon.

If you want to be based in DEN go get a job at SkyWest because you will be an old man before you can hold a vacancy here.
This is a direct result of the company deciding to rope-a-dope the contract negotiations. Had the UPA been done earlier, the ISL would have been done earlier, and training would have been targeted two years ago to match the new seniority list. Instead who was being trained compared to what eventually became the ISL became more and more out of whack. Now they're just so far behind trying to get it back in line it's hard to see how they'll ever catch up. This all began with "labor is not needed for this merger" and may very well end with it's failure as a result.

Just so we're clear, while the company clearly wanted to delay, delay, delay... it was only exacerbated by the disunity at the MEC level on both sides. This wasn't a company only failure WRT contract timing. There were pilot group issues (again, both sides) that made the situation far worse than it should have been. As an LUAL guy, my perspective is that JP sabotaged the process from almost day 1 and the CALMEC bought in. You may see it differently, but there is no denying that it didn't go as it should have.

Done. Now going forward, we need leaders. No more of this garbage we've been seeing at the road shows. We hear you? Really? That's their mantra? How about getting ahead of the jet (like we all do daily) and make good operational decisions. That's something I can get behind. I have 25 years to go and would like to retire (quit?) from this airline.

Default Searching for Poolie "Lurkers"

Calling all Poolies that are just "Lurking", we are looking for you to join our Poolie News Line-up list.

For the past 2 class calls we have been running very accurate. But we are tying to get everyone on it so we will have nearly a complete list to see who all is still swimming with us.

We can just put you down with any name or "Non-APCer" if you do not want your screen name on....come join the fun!

Here is a token to hopefully brighten your weekend (if it is true).

There will be approx 10-12 poolies getting a call Mon/Tue for the next class. **Remember - just APC chatter from multiple sources but it has been pretty close so far**

First post, I've been "lurking" for years. I asked to have my screenname changed and told it could not be changed....maybe I misunderstood. Anyway....

United interview date November 19th, (M) SSN. Add me to the list.

For all interested MPAdriver has been doing an excellent job of collecting and disseminating as much data as possible based on the info we provide here or via PM (to MPAdriver). In continuance of that effort I/we urge you to provide as much info as you are comfortable with. Interview day or week and Low (L), Mid (M), or High (H) last 4 of SSN. Got called for class? Congrats! Let MPA know with the details. And if you know of any non APC-ers who were sucessful MPA will create a place holder for them as well. Accuracy has been around 90%. Not to shabby! The more info they have the more accurate it will be.

More just for fun, I was poking around on our competitions poolie thread and stumbled across this...

DAL overachievers

Jheesh...

Again this is just for levity. Trying to start the next week of class calls with a bit of humor to break the stress of waiting.

Not taking away from anything MPA has been doing as the info here has been invaluable and much easier to read/understand. It has lead to at least a little bit of comfort during the 3 week waits inbetween official updates. Keep up the excellent work MPA!

My vote is MPAdriver for thread mayor.
