Default NMB Accused of Helping Delta

Interesting!

The Transportation Trades Dept., AFL-CIO (TTD), which represents 32 unions governed by the Railway Labor Act, is objecting to a labor rule change proposed by the National Mediation Board that TTD says is suspiciously tied to the Delta/Northwest merger.
The TTD, after reviewing the proposed changes, sent a letter to NMB General Counsel Mary Johnson, saying the changes represent “significant and hostile changes to rules that will govern how the Board will conduct representation elections and address other representation disputes.” The TTD further has asked for a 60-day extension from the comment deadline of Aug. 15 because the changes being proposed are “often ambiguous and open to wide interpretation.”
