No mysterious firings, but we're bleeding people faster than they can be replaced.

In other words, nothing has changed in the last 6 years.

Schedule changed today. 8/6 option available for bid, as well as 15/13 and reserve.

Nothing changed except paying union dues? I'm new to the union world and understand the need....50+ years ago. With current technology, what does a union provide for such a small pilot force that a few guys and a couple computers cant do for much less? This isn't meant to start a fight but seriously, I see all the union love and wonder what they are actually accomplishing that cannot be done by the pilots themselves.

Really? What does technology have to do with ethical treatment of employees, and better QOL?

The ability of a pilot group to organize on its own, without the need of an outside agency is much easier today than at any other time due to technology. Technology allows one person or group to reach thousands, for free.

How much are union dues for TMC?

I am not a "pro" union guy myself, but you should do some research. A union is the "legal" representative of the pilot group. It has an MEC voted in by the membership. The MEC is authorized to negotiate on behalf of the labor group. A union is the only means by which a labor group can be released to self-help. There are a lot of reasons to have a union at an organization such as TMC.

That's great news in my book. I guess my next questions would be the ratio of 8/6 schedules vs 15/13 and reserve; and for how long a time period you're bidding that schedule.
