New Hire Class Dates Updated
#71
your on... I'm pretty confident the drop dead date for everyone that bypassed is Sep 2019... after this date you lose recall rights. I looked through all the furlough updates from Andy and Todd... could not find the one with the date listed... it was either an MEC message or Furlough Coordinator email... Pilot Hiring at TK would know for sure if anyone wants to research... I don't have a dog in the fight so won't waste any more time.

And just too summarize, it's 10 years from date of furlough. Full stop. Period.
(Sources: the current UPA, the previous LUAL contract that section 7 of the UPA is based upon, and the "Furloughed Pilots Reference Guide" issued by UA.)
Have a good night.

Late 2019 would be the drop dead date for the last group. Perhaps that's what you are thinking of??

United furloughs only have to provide 30 days notice to come back and I'm not sure how long LOA pilots need to give notice. Since the passage of the contract extension, and upgrades going junior. a ton of pilots have decided to come back. The company has no idea how many are out there until 30 days prior. Also they lowered their hiring projections due to this large wave of leave pilots and also the right sizing of bases. This IAH 787 FO displacement effectively reduces the need for 75 new hires. Not to mention the 747 draw down.
The airline staffing is in such a state of flux right now I really don't think they could give you guidance. The bottom line is that new hires are needed, we are growing mainline and you will get a class, but pilots on the seniority list get first crack.
as far as the regional CPP deals go the contracts state a very small number must be taken by UA per year. I have no idea what that number is or what year UA must start taking pilots. I know its based off a percentage of pilots on property and is a small number, most likely will be less than 50 pilots per year combined Xjet and CommutAir.
