Default UPS-IPA TA: Total increased pilot costs

Lots of movement from UPS in the final two months of negotiating. These figures are the increased costs over the life of the contract for the airlines:

And how were those costs figured. Where did the magic 1 quarter of profits in 10 years go on this T/A? We still don't have an answer.

Heavyjet,

Have you asked the question? And who is the "we" your are speaking for? **** and moan all you want, but if you have a question about the TA, there is a ready made place for you to ask it.

What is the answer going to do for you? We already know UPS has saved tons of cash delaying this TA. We already know they could pay each of us $500/hr with all the scheduling rules, retro pay, and first class DH's we desire and still not see a measurable change in their balance sheet. So what?? Sounds more like you are trying to discredit BT and the rest of the EB for some undisclosed reason, perhaps elections this fall? Congrats: falling right into the hands of Big Brown's master plan. Wake up already, we lost the battle. Don't throw away the gains we did make over greed for more. There's another fight coming right around the corner...

Gains? Huh I'm confused. Article 13 improvements were dumped. No "real" raise. *** is that. Another fight? The current schedules are pure chit and you want another 10 years of this same crap? No movement, displacements, denied trip trades, no raise. I'll pass on that.

Huh? No sense trying to talk TA with you. Obviously you've made up your mind and that's fine. In the last 5 years I moved up to only flying hard lines in the left seat. I had 3 trip trades approved this bid period (2 denied), and made $335K last year. Easily over $400K/yr in the next couple of years. No glamour here but it has afforded a nice life for my family. Night flying sucks and that will never change in our lifetime friend. FedEx and Delta are hiring. I have a friend who was a Cpt here and went to Jetblue. He's much happier flying days and making a lot less. Perhaps you should consider leaving for greener pastures. Plenty of guys out there (and your F/O's) who'd love your job. Perspective is a wonderful thing. Why not look for something positive instead of dwelling on everything negative? Not bashing but just trying to talk you off the ledge...Life is good

Did you call the union and ask? Did you attend the GMM and ask? The union didn't just pull the financials out of thin air or make them up. They hired the individual who does all the financials for many airline unions industry wide. UPS and the NMB did not question the figures shown by him during negotiations. He is very well respected in the industry.

Not the international schedules. All I do these days is babysit grandpas or dudes falling asleep at the yoke because they have 10 layovers under 24 hours. It's a great sales job though. Get the stuff in video 2 and I'm voting yes. Money means nothing to me when it means 10 more years of the current bs.

I'm sure I'm one of the grandpas you have to babysit, sorry but I do enjoy enroute combat nap. I hate those back to back 24 hour layovers, wish that had been improved.
