Aircraft Order announcement Oct.27?
It seems every Van ride and flight this past week all I hear is the upcoming Aircraft Order announcement later this month at the Board of Directors meeting. Oct. 27th?
Managers already in Training, Flights to BFI full of NURPS, Jennings telling all who will listen that we will all be very happy soon, etc.
Don't people realize it's Peak Season? And they just want our help one more time? Hope it is all true. But this is UPS. Atlanta has to do something, the MD's and corroded 74's won't last forever.

Key Lime Air is getting 100 757s as UPS exploits loophole in the latest contract. Does that count?
For you horse folks, UPS is a mule. It's not fast, it's fairly stubborn, but keeps walking along. It will not run, but not likely to quit either. If you wanted a growing cargo job, you should have gone to FedEx. It's tough to predict these things. Sorry. For all of those looking for jobs and trying to decide where to go, look at the current size of your prospect airline, look at the retirements and plug your age in to figure out where you'll see the most growth.
Back to the aircraft order, many years ago I had a UPS CA bud who was predicting growth based on FedEx size and couldn't say enough about hiring and airplanes. Today, my friend is just looking to retirement.

If that were the case, the announcement would be December 26th. This peak is ****ed not matter what announcement is made!

...and next his logic loophole where he doesn't have to comprehend that UPS isn't an airline and that the company itself is consistently growing....

I say there is no room to park anymore airplanes right now. Unless something changes, I don't see any airplanes as being growth vs replacement even if the many rumors are true.
