Do they meet the definition of a major in terms of # of airframes, # of paxs flown, revenue generated, etc?

Virgin America definitely belongs in the category of Majors.

Why? I don't think they meet the revenue requirement to be a major. Still just regional junk.

No. Then again if there is a section entitled "Airlines run by weasels" I would say yes!

Before those of you with stars in your eyes be influenced by this wolf in sheeps clothing, consider their record.

Ask the pilot group. They are systematically cleansing the pilot group of those they consider unfit to be a "virgin"!

After a year of begging pilots to come on board they seem to be replacing loyal risk takers with higher time A320 defectors from other airlines.

Insurance is marginal, Pay is marginal and QOL is deterriorating rapidly.

Folks there isn't a FLIGHT STANDARDS MANUAL!!!!!

You are one check ride from a marginal check airman(there is an unending supply of marginal check airman) away from being on the street.

They have and will fire people for any reason(without that person failing any check rides)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have been warned.

Now go play nice somewhere else!

A major in terms of what?

Salary? NOPE
Revenue? NOPE
Equiptment? NOPE
PAX carried? NOPE
longevity? NOPE
Route structure? NOPE

The only thing that could possibly share with a major airline is a couple of *******s who have been and or still are involved with the management of the airline. That alone don't cut it.

At BEST its an upstart.

Cheers
Wino
