I heard the 4 732's from OzJet were a no-go. Something about it costing too much money to bring them up to spec.

Gas and upkeep are too expensive for those old types. There are too many 733/Airbi coming available from UAL and others to go chasing after cheap old airframes that will cost a fortune to maintain and operate. Even those old MD 83/82's they were considering aren't worth it.

Those days are gone.

Well that sucks. So I wonder when or if we will get more equipment. I'm also wondering if they're still dead set against anything not power by the hour. Man, that really popped my balloon.

someone should publish that e-mail. this is "Airline Pilot Central". my guess is that alot of your brothers out there would like to see (read for themselves) how pace airlines 737 crews are being treated today.

Agreed. You would think that with CAL's and UAL's 733/735's they are retiring, we could get great lease rates. I read somewhere that AeroMexico was trying to get rid of some of their 737-700's, but that would be a wet dream that would never happen at Pace.
