Hi!

I have been reading here how crappy Virgin AMerica is.

I wonder how long is the average trip? If it is shorter and 165 days, I would be interested, as that is the length of my current trip.

Are they in CASS, can they jumpseat? I can't.

It sounds pretty good to me, compared to what is available, now.

Would I like a better job than VA??? Sure. Tell me where to apply, and I will, as long as I meet the mins.

Only after they have successfully completed a rehab program. Everyone has complications & hardships in life that we deal with differently. Fact of the matter is there are functioning alcohics in every profession out there from aviators to doctors to lawyers to cops to firefighters.

I think it's an excellent program, as it gives someone a second chance. It's not like they're flying solo up there, the other crewmember is always watching. Or perhaps more appropriately, always smelling.

These guys have a post on avianation for pilot jobs recently. Does anybody know if they code share with the other airlines for commuting?

If you commute off line, you just use your ID for jumpseat, and hope there's an empty seat in the cabin. Code share applies to revenue seats only.

Me 5th year E190 CA at JetBlue

83 hours

78 x 130.78 ( my base rate to 78 hours ) = $10200.84
5 x 196.17 ( at premium pay > 78 hrs ) = $ 980.85
total for 83 hours = $ 11181.69

Virgin America based on the payscale posted in this forum.

5th yr A320/319 CA

82 x $115.00 ( your base pay as published ) = $9430.00
1 x 143.75 ( 1 hour of premium at 125% ) = $143.75
total for 83 hours = $9573.75

JetBlue $11181.69 Virgin America $9573.75 Difference $1607.94

Make your own conclusions and I fly a 100 seat RJ. If I'm wrong please show me.

The difference between 5th year Airbus CA at 83 hours is $2850.26
