Commuter Upstart in Farmingdale N.Y.
Does anyone know anything about these guys. It seems that they want to start an airline, but are restricting their pilots to reside only in Farmingdale. See add below as was written in Climbto350.
"Charter Air Transport, Inc. is an FAA approved Part 135 on demand charter company. Our company started in 2005 with 1 EMB-120 and has grown to a fleet of 5 EMB-120, 1 CE560, 1 BE400A, 1 Hawker HS125, and most recently a Falcon 50. We have plans of continuing to grow our fleet by adding additional EMB-120 aircraft over the next 12 months. We currently have aircraft based in Cleveland, Ohio, Sanford, Florida, Farmingdale, NY, and Richmond, VA. With our recent approval with the DOT to operate as a commuter airline we plan on adding aircraft and crew to meet our growing needs."

Don't understand, If they have aircraft based in places as listed above, why would they insist that all their pilots live in Farmingdale.....I'm sure they could find more Pilots living in Florida, than Farmingdale.

KFRG Commuter Airline
I do not believe local laws in the Town of Babylon will permit scheduled airline service out of FRG. I recall about ten years ago a operator was shut down for operating a "scheduled" flight to Atlantic City. I could be wrong, times change...

Empire Airways used to operate FRG to ACY for like $75 RT with van service to the casinos. However I just went to their website and see no mention of it. Hmmm...

Charter Air Transport is not a start up airline. They are an established on-demand charter company doing business primarily east of the Mississippi river. The job they have available is in Farmingdale, NY. If you don't live in the area and that is where they are looking why would you even apply??? Wouldn't applying for a job that you do not meet ALL of the qualifications for work against you if you wanted to apply with them in the future??? Wouldn't that tell them that you don't follow instructions well? You don't think the rules apply to you? Food for thought...

Guys and gals in all honesty, read the post before applying. Remember you are a professional pilot, applying for a Job you are not qualified for only shows the company that you do not Follow instructions very well. I hope you can follow instruction/ procedures in the aircraft.
