Default Ice In The Yukon

+

Alone @ Sea

C118 @ night
The C118 is the military version the DC6. The military versions have much better cockpit lighting than any of the civilian ones.

Where about on the Yukon is that? It looks like the Lower Yukon, south of Galena, but I'm definitely no expert...

FOD -

You look nice and relaxed if that is part of you in the 3rd picture
Nice pictures as always.
What altitude are you at in those pictures?
Is this your usual cruising altitude?

FOD,
any reason why the "above 10,000" flag isn't covered up on your altimeter?
Maybe I'm just opening my mouth up and sounding stupid, but it looks (to me) like it's reading above 10,000

We are above 10k, good eye. I have no idea why it isn't covered all the way up.

The third picture was after a very long day (2 pilots + 1 additional crewmember sucks) so I was just kicking back.

The one of the Yukon was taken at a VFR on top altitude while in cruise, probably around 4,500 feet.

The other one was out over the water cruising at 3,000 between Nome and Unalakleet. So to answer your question yup those are normal altitudes.

Alaska looks even better from 3-4K than 20k.

I was half expecting the plane to have ice on it, from the thread title. Still good shots!
