Now here's something you don't see every day.

This is the Spirit of St Louis on display at the San Diego Aerospace Museum in Balboa Park. A couple of years ago they flew it down to the museum's hangar at Gillespie Field.

I'm definitely a fan of having a windshield and being able to see forward.

A Windshield is nice but at 30west id rather it was a fuel tank

To be honest, I was afraid to ask. Crossing the Atlantic is a long ride in a slow bird. All that vibration - I'd say it's necessary equipment.

My guess is you have to be a wealthy benefactor who happens to be a retired ATP. I wouldn't trust anyone else with that.
