Chennai information merely VHF version of Chennai Radio which is HF, used for position reports, PIREPS and requests for different altitudes. At best the radio operator on the ground could have done is requested the pilot's name. But at the end of the day, all he needs to do is contact the DGCA who would in turn contact QATAR to lodge a complaint against the PIC for such rudeness.
