Default **Wake Up Jeff**

UAL's "operational performance deficiencies" are not due to the lack of "Spare Aircraft", it's a heck of a lot more than that! Pull your head out Jeffery, it's LONG OVER DUE. As evidence of the Q&A from today's reporting Conference Call, even Wall Street is starting to see through your B.S.

UNITED Daily (07-26-12)
We address operational performance
Jeff and EVP and Chief Operations Officer Pete McDonald told financial analysts and investors on Thursday that our operational performance is not where we want it to be. As Pete said in an employee bulletin earlier this month, one of the actions we’re taking is putting more operational spare aircraft into the network.

In the UA fleet, we have gone from nine available spares at the end of June to 12 as of Thursday. This includes a Boeing 747 and two 757 spares added in July. In August, we will add a 767 and two more Airbus spares to return us to 15, our previous daily standard. We regularly maintain six CO mainline spares.

These spare aircraft are in addition to the continued investment in maintenance “touch time” to improve the health of the fleet.

The other actions we are taking to support better on-time performance include adding maintenance resources to focus on preventive maintenance and to reduce the number of out-of-service aircraft, placing more time in our crew schedules to reduce crew connection delays, and adding more block and ground time in the flight schedule. In addition, Airport Operations is implementing several initiatives to improve on-time departures.

We are making these investments to improve the experience for our customers and our co-workers.
