I dont have all the answers, but I can say that I worked at Florida aviation academy in Pompano beach. Its not a top notch school, but from all the people I met there said It was a lot cheaper than "professional pilot schools etc". Maybe just check them out, its up the road from you. Also, the examiners they use are very friendly and fair for check rides etc.
