I agree with FlyerJosh. ATC is in deep trouble. There are about 20,000+ controllers out there and 75% are going to need to be replaced in the coming years. The lack of long time (experienced) controllers will no doubt bog down the ATC system as it sits today. However, it's the airlines that will force the FEDS to pony up $$$ to lure candidates to the ATC profession.

Those of you that have ever flown into ORD know how good the controllers are. Now compare that to the Delta hub of SLC. It's a 180 degree difference. When inexperienced controllers hit the high density airports, delays, near misses, etc. are bound to happen.
