I was thinking the same thing. That weapon in the picture looks like it should be in a museum. Nice to see the press in other countries puts out about the same effort as our own to get the facts straight.
It looks like they used a picture of a 1917
WWI Italian Glisenti Revolver (you can see the date stamp). Probably googled "pistola" and took the first image that popped up.... "Meh, it's a gun - good enough".
