Most American expats are in the same boat. Now I'm not sure how FedEx and UPS (and the USPS) are interpreting "resident", but unless you've picked up and moved the whole kit-and-kaboodle and actually changed your residence, I suspect an overseas job is a non-issue. Any FedEx or UPS guys care to detach themselves from the freight forum and weigh in?
This was discussed a while back in the cargo forums and the story from somebody that applied at FedEx was that working or residing abroad was a no go, it is unclear if UPS has the same restriction though, for what I understand it is only FedEx...!
