The MEC minutes were accurate in that the pilots that failed (other than the written failure and early withdrawal) had issues associated with situational awareness and workload planning. To better address those concerns, the TD added more days to both the systems and procedures classes. Those days are used for simulator evaluators to discuss planning for non-normal events relative to systems failures and to review scenario-based training. Common errors are also discussed. Those extra days were added beginning with the 5th upgrade class this year and the feedback, thus far, has been positive and the success rate has increased.
