You all need to forget any other BNA AME other than Capt./Dr. C.R. Smith. Interesting post but ... I'm pretty sure (I'd bet a months pay) that American doesn't have 747's? I believe they had (many year ago!) only 2 747SP's for a short time to fly DFW-NRT. I actually know a retired American 747 pilot.
As far as the rest of the story goes ... it's certainly interesting
